Gunsmoke was a long-running old-time radio and television Western drama program set in Dodge City, Kansas during the settlement of the American West. The radio show first aired on April 26, 1952, and ran until June 18, 1961, on the CBS radio network.

Nip Culler, a crazy old man, proposes to Kitty and won't take "no" for an answer. Nip Colors is a 60 year-old-man who is in Dodge to look for himself a wife. Some of the women in the saloon are mocking Colors and Kitty doesn’t like their behavior and sends them all packing. Nip Colors decides that Kitty is the woman for him and he seems to have difficulty understanding that she doesn’t want to marry him.
